Well, the Star Wars prequels were never in any danger of winning any major Oscars, but how on earth does Revenge of the Sith not even get nominated for visual effects? What more are they wanting?

Perhaps the Academy was trying to drill home the "With great power comes great responsibility" philosophy by discouraging George Lucas from ever using the special effects magic of ILM for evil again.
